About Eric Reithel

I'm a graduate of Columbia College Chicago and have made a living for myself working in multiple aspects of media. I spent many years freelancing in television and film as a production assistant in Chicago. Recently, however, I found my vocational passion: producing and anchoring television and radio news broadcasts. I have an inquisitive, curious nature. When news comes my way, I don't just absorb facts, I attempt to place them in "the bigger picture."​ I always critically think about everything I learn, and find a way to make it relevant to the lives of those around me. More than that, I have a technically proficient mind. I taught myself how to edit audio before even conceiving of applying to my current position simply because I wanted to know how. With the guidance of my employers, I've learned how to stack a show, generate a quality news rundown, pitch stories and ideas, operate a sound board, work with multiple news editing software platforms, and root it all in being a solid journalist.
