I have had the privilege of working for the same agency in which I completed my internship, EOTC. Through my years at EOTC, I have worked with justice involved women. Working with this population is a unique and incredible experience. I have learned that this population has so much to offer our community. Many women possess amazing talents that they didn't even know they had or that have been discouraged in their former lifestyle or personal lives. This is where I feel I make a difference. It is my goal to help these women tap into these talents and ultimately gain a sense of self-worth. Self-worth affects their ability to obtain employment, re-establish family relationships, focus on recovery-among many other critical life situations. I have had the honor of working in a program that provides mentors to help support these women reach their individual goals. Our wonderful mentors help inspire our participants to realize their self-worth and reach their fullest potential."Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring-all of which have the potential to turn a life around."
