About Erin Higginbottom

I am the Education Manager at K'ómoks First Nation, where I support the implementation of the K'ómoks Local Education Agreement and the development of educational programs and services for the community. I have over five years of experience as an Independent School Inspector at the Ministry of Education, where I ensure that schools comply with the provincial standards and regulations, and provide quality education to students. I leverage my expertise in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Montessori to conduct thorough and objective inspections, evaluations, and reports. I am also a Montessori Educational Leadership Expert, with over 15 years of classroom and administration experience in Montessori schools. I was the Executive Director of the Montessori Training Centre of British Columbia, where I led the strategic planning, operations, and accreditation of the only Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) recognized training centre in Western Canada. I increased student enrollment, nurtured a collaborative workplace culture, and implemented innovative curricula and programs. I recently completed a Masters of Educational Leadership at Vancouver Island University, with a focus on Montessori Educational Leadership. My mission is to inspire and empower educators, administrators, and students to foster a lifelong love of learning and discovery.
