About Ernest Modarelli

Community focused public servant, community activist, pedestrian safety advocate, digital communications expert, migrant from NJ, and Hell's Kitchen resident. Currently engaging my neighbors and the local community about the Bus Terminal Replacement Project for the Port Authority of NY and NJ. Was proudly appointed by Governor Andrew Cuomo to serve in the Executive Chamber as a Policy Advisor. Graduated from the City University of New York with a Masters Degree in Public Administration, and received an education on the practical application of government from six years of service on Manhattan Community Board 4, where I was elected the board's Second Vice Chair, appointed Co-Chair of the Transportation Committee and served as a member of the Hell’s Kitchen Land Use as well as the Business Licenses Permits Committees. During the same period I was elected Vice President of the Chelsea Hell’s Kitchen Pedestrian Safety Society (CHEKPEDS), which advocates for pedestrian safety improvements on the dangerous streets of NYC. Also elected to the Manhattan Democratic County Committee in 2014 and was a candidate for Judicial Delegate. Experience outside of public service includes starting and operating Policomm, a digital communications firm with clients across the US. Putting to use many years of experience in the digital communications field, including work with the United Nations International School, and running the digital media for the successful campaign to elect Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer.
