About Ethan Meyerhoffer

I was born and raised in Raleigh, NC and am a student at UNC Chapel Hill as a member of Honors Carolina. In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, rock climbing, running, spending time with friends, and doing anything that is hands-on and makes me think. In my classes, I am most excited by the sciences ranging from Biology to Mathematics to Physics. Outside of school, I am a member of the Undergraduate Honor Court, the Zhang Lab (where I assist in researching the function of non-coding mRNA), UNC Club Tennis, and Camp Kesem. I am passionate about serving the community through my volunteer roles at the UNC Children's Hospital and the UNC Dental Faculty Practice. I am a member of three honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa (PBK), Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED), and Delta Delta Delta (DDS). PBK is a highly prestigious honor society which I was selected for based on my academic performance. AED and DDS are pre-health and pre-dentistry honors professional fraternities which I applied for and prepare me for a future education and career in healthcare. Following my graduation from UNC, I am interested in going into dental school in hopes of becoming a general dentist, oral surgeon, or orthodontist. The intersection of spatial relations, problem solving, healthcare, and extended relationships with patients is something that continues to attract me to dentistry as a future career.
