About Ettore Mosca

Dr. Ettore Mosca is a permanent Researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Technologies (ITB), National Research Council of Italy (CNR, He received his BS in Molecular Biotechnologies, his MS in Bioinformatics and his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Milan-Bicocca EM works as Bioinformatician or, more generally, as “data scientist”. His research activities are focused on the interpretation of biological “big data” generated from high throughput techniques (e.g. DNA microarrays, DNA sequencers, mass spectrometry) currently used to study cell behavior at molecular level. EM follows the so-called “systems biology” approach to put together cell components’ measurements into the context of molecular interaction networks. EM collaborates with Research Institutions, Universities and Hospitals based in Italy and abroad to shed light on the molecular basis of human pathologies. EM has been involved in several Italian and European scientific projects. EM trains students in collaboration with Italian Universities. EM is a full member of the Bioinformatics Italian Society (BITS, http://bioinformatics.it). EM is the author of more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and several speeches at scientific conferences.
