About Evy Cleeren

I am a passionate neuroscientist, currently appointed to the department of neurology and neurosurgery of the University Hospital Leuven. I am responsible for the multimodal neuroimaging pipeline during the presurgical evaluation of patients with refractory epilepsy. Our presurgical pipeline consist of long-term video-EEG monitoring, structural and functional MRI, FDG-PET, ictal/interictal SPECT, DTI and ESI. I perform intraoperative EEG recordings during epilepsy surgery (ECoG) or revascularisation surgery. Furthermore, I do the follow-up of epilepsy patients treated with ANT-DBS. I am teaching and my researchline is currently focussing in validating and optimizing the multimodal imaging pipeline. Within the department of neurosurgery, I am responsible for the functional monitoring and mapping of eloquent areas during awake craniotomies.
