About Ewan Doyle

I commenced my career at Scottish Borders Council in and obtained my professional qualification with the ICE in 2005 (IEng MICE). Following years working as a Project Engineer I moved into Project/Programme Management in 2007. To support my move into project management I obtained a Prince2 Practitioner qualification in 2013. The Council provides me a variety of projects for various services that has enabled me to develop a well rounded knowledge, experience, skills and expertise to successfully deliver complex projects. My role during the lifecycle of the capital projects is to sit as the Project Executive/Director and the single decision maker to lead and direct project. One of the most important skills that I have developed is stakeholder management, in all forms of communication. My understanding of how to engage successfully with Clients, professionals, politicians and the general public is a key skill. Project management crosses multi-disciplinary professional boundaries which makes building teams of external consultants and internal professionals challenging but essential in the current environment for delivering projects. I have a proven track record of achieving collective buy-in to a project and build ownership within a group of professionals to achieve the best solutions. My current role involves the strategic analysis of capital/revenue projects/services and creating business case/plan, operational management plans, CAPEX/OPEX analysis, external funding opportunities and delivery planning. This allows me to allocate the appropriate resources to ensure the successful delivery and implementation of the building and infrastructure projects. I have successfully delivered over £80M of external funding grants towards projects in the Scottish Borders. I undertook the Chartered Professional review with the Chartered Management Institute in July 2015, obtaining the qualification in August 2015 (CMgr MCMI). I am involved in the development of Sustainable Energy Strategies for the authority and the Scottish Borders.
