About Fabian Rutte

Being a little boy, I was already fascinated by Aviation. When going on holiday, flying was always the best part of the holiday for me. After graduating at the HAVO in The Netherlands, I wanted to start with an Aviation-related study. After attending several open houses of universities in The Netherlands, I decided to start with the Bachelor Aviation Logistics at the University of Applied Sciences. In the first two years of this study, I did several research projects with project teams on different, sometimes fictional, subjects. In my third year, I did my internship at the Systems & Infrastructure department of Air Traffic Control the Netherlands (ATC-NL), which was a very interesting period for me with combining acquired theory with the real working environment. In my fourth year, I succesfully finished the Aviation Management Honours Programme of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. I performed my graduation research at ATC-NL on the optimization of ILS-quality measurements. In August 2017, I obtained my Bachelor of Science. After obtaining my Bachelor Degree, I started working as Junior Employee at the CNS/Navigation department within ATC-NL. During this time, I was able to learn a lot about the navigation systems in use at ATC-NL. Furthermore, I put my recommendations of my graduation research into practice. In September 2018, I started as a master student at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam to pursue my Master's Degree on Policy, Communication and Organization. After succesfully finishing the pre-master programme in July 2019, I followed the one-year Master programme in 2019-2020. I wrote my Master Thesis about the impact of negative media coverage to employees within the Aviation industry. In July 2020, I obtained my Master of Science. During this 2018-2020 span, I kept working at ATC-NL on a parttime basis. After obtaining my Master Degree, I have started working on a fulltime basis at ATC-NL as a System Specialist.
