About Fadil Elmenfi
Fadil Elmenfi is an Associate Professor of Translation Studies at the University of Derna (Libya). Vice-Chancellor of Derna University (Libya), 2020-2022. Full-time faculty member at Omar Al-Mukhtar University (Libya), 2006-2019, and Atilim University (Turkey), 2019-2021. He holds a PhD in Translation and Intercultural Studies from School of Modern Languages & Cultures, University of Durham. His academic interests lie in corpus-based translation studies, intercultural studies and the interaction between various culture, and views of orientalism perspective. He authored more that 25 publications including but not limited to ‘Contextual Aspects of Style and Translation’ (English Language and Literature Studies 2014) ‘Venuti's Foreignization: Resistance Against the Arabic Culture’ (International Journal of Comparative Literature & Translation Studies 2015) ‘Conflicting Discourse of Foreignizing Informative Text’ (International Journal of Linguistics, Literature and Translation (IJLLT) 2018).
