About Faruk Ugranli

Faruk Ugranlı received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Ege University, İzmir, Türkiye, in 2012 and 2016, respectively. He is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bakircay University, İzmir, Türkiye.Since 2017, he has been actively involved in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, including Circuit Theory, Power System Analysis, Renewable Energy Sources, and Electric Power Distribution Systems. In 2014, he was a visiting Ph.D. researcher at the Center for Electric Power and Energy at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Copenhagen, Denmark, for a one-year period.His main research interests include distribution system planning, transmission expansion planning, renewable energy integration into power systems, distributed generation, and intelligent systems applications in power system analysis. His research activities have resulted in 15 articles published in high-quality journals indexed in SCI or SCI-E.In recognition of his research excellence, he was awarded the 2018 Turkey Ph.D. Thesis Award by the Turkey Section, based on three publications from his Ph.D. thesis—two of which appeared in Transactions journals. He has been an active member of and Power and Energy Society since 2012.In addition to journal publications, he has contributed to numerous international conferences through oral presentations and has also worked as a researcher in a nationally funded project supported by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK).
