About Federica Poli

Research activity on specialty optical fibers, mainly on photonic crystal fibers, for high power laser applications, optical telecommunication systems and optical sensing. Experience in team work, long-distance international collaborative research activities, in interacting with people in international environments, also through participation to international conferences and meetings. Teaching activity, concerning advanced photonic technologies useful for practical applications in many industrial and research fields. Coordination of student activity on thesis work. Co-author of the book: F. Poli, A. Cucinotta, S. Selleri, “Photonic Crystal Fibers Properties and Applications”, Springer Series in Materials Science, vol. Co-author of more than 180 technical papers, published in the most important international journals and national and international conference proceedings. Peer reviewer of articles submitted for publication on the main international journals in the field of optics. Research activity in the frame of the FP7 European Project ALPINE (Advanced Lasers for Photovoltaic INdustrial processing Enhancement, Specialties: Numerical modeling of specialty optical fibers based on the finite element method.
