About Fernanda Vaz

I started my career in marketing strategy but over the years I realized that the things I was passionate about were dealing with people and the interpersonal dynamics. After starting to volunteer with children from low income families while I was living in Seattle from 2013-2015, I found out that I wanted to work with families and children longterm. After these two years of experience as a tutor, I decided to have my first child which led me to the biggest change in my life values and interests. I found myself digging into psychology and parenting education in order to help myself navigate the complex new world I was facing. Additionally, I wanted to find a way to raise a future adult who would have self-awareness and a strong psychological foundation for dealing with life challenges. In light of that, I decided to start a trauma-informed training program and a Master's in Child Development with Concentration in Early Childhood Mental Health in order to become a future Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) after my graduation in May 2022.
