Background

About Fiona Ormiston

I've written, developed, produced and hosted over 100 episodes of online children's ministry curriculum aimed at 3-10 year olds. I've created many characters, including aerobics instructor 'Jeni Jogsalot', storyteller 'Granny Paige-Turner', science professor 'I. B Bonkers', weatherman 'Sunny Day' and French chef 'Mademoiselle Patisserie le Croissant.' My extensive training and experience in writing for children, dancing, singing and performance alongside my sense of humour have equipped me to create video sessions that kids and their grownups love to rewatch. I love to write stories for children, especially stories that can help children to understand themselves and navigate the world around them. I have recently finished a piece of historical fiction for middle grade, as well as some stories for younger children based around challenging topics such as dementia and grief. Side-hustle: I would have a gardening side hustle but I’m currently 319th in line for a community garden plot here in LA, so the basil plant on my writing desk is doing its best to fulfill my horticultural needs.
