About Fiona Salter

I am an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) and Credentialed Eating Disorder Dietitian and am passionate about working alongside people with eating disorders and their carers. I have over 12 years’ experience in the eating disorders field and over 20 years in dietetics. I strive to listen deeply to gt to know and understand patients and their families well so I can support and enable each one during their journey towards recovery. Underpinning my work is my strong belief in providing evidence-informed care through applying new research findings to clinical practice, and evaluating work that is done. To this end, I am completing my Master of Philosophy degree at Curtin University. My current work role is dietetic lead at the Esus Centre, Centre of Excellence in Eating Disorders treatment, Australia's first Centre for integrated eating disorder treatment. I work within a multidisciplinary team that is dedicated to delivering exemplary treatment for people with eating disorders. Our collaborative approach combines the expertise of psychiatrists, psychologists, dietitians, GPs, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and the those with a lived experience and their carers. My role includes clinical dietetics for our Intensive Treatment Program and in the out-patient setting, leading our small but growing team of amazing dietitians, conducting quality assurance and research for the Esus Centre.
