About Flavio MacAu

I am the Associate Dean of Business Systems and Operations at the School of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University. My main topics of interest in teaching and research are Global Supply Chains, Project Management, Information Systems, and Business Analytics. I have a strong media presence on TV (ABC News, TRT World Now), radio (The Money, BBC), newspapers (The Guardian, The Washington Post), magazines (The Choice, MHD Logistics), and publishers (The Conversation). To date, I have reached a combined audience of over 2.5 billion people in more than 60 countries, mainly discussing supply chain disruptions. The U.S. Department of State invited me to chair a session for the 2022 Supply Chain Ministerial Forum, a global event with ministers of state from over 25 countries.(It doesn't get bigger than that!) I have industry experience in the automotive, agroindustry, and resources sectors, working with companies like Mercedes-Benz, BIOSEV, Anglo American, and NEXA Resources. I'm a panellist and keynote speaker at industry events (CeMAT) and conferences (ANZAM), contributing to industry associations such as the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the WA Freight Reference Group. In the past 10 years, I supervised 20+ research projects to completion; lectured 70+ units to students; published one book, three case studies, and several peer-reviewed articles; and assisted 120+ short-term consulting projects.
