About Florencia Schell

I read recently that when hiring people you should not choose them by their skills, because skills can be taught; when hiring people you have to select them for their attitude and when it comes to attitude you usually can find two different kinds of people: the unstoppable and the rest. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. My grandfather came from Spain when he was a young boy and built this house where I am writing this essay right now. He came with nothing and actually built a house. That was back then, of course, because nowadays the reality of my country is very different. Many talented people have left the country in the last decades because they were not supported in their professional growth and severely underpaid. I myself traveled abroad and tried to settle down in some other city where I could feel that I had “a future”. Sadly, my country remains an unstable country where it is hard to make a decent living. I know for a fact that I won´t build a house of my own so my expectations are grounded. I am from Argentina. I have been abroad and learnt a big deal about my identity. In Argentina, we find a way to get things done, to overcome the persistent economic crisis. If inflation makes something unaffordable, we learn how to make it ourselves. We are resilient, creative and hard working while warm, friendly and caring for each other. We always find the time to be social and interact with our loved ones. I know we act this way because most of us come from such different backgrounds: our grandparents came from all over the world to coexist and progress. I consider myself unstoppable in the pursuit of my own peace of mind. I am a fast learner and I take my responsibilities seriously. My goal is to have an opportunity to live a decent life.
