About Fred Dantas

I am one of those people that can find nearly everything interesting. That is one of the reasons my initial career choice was Architecture and Urbanism: a course that would include math, geometry, and applied physics but also history, geography, anthropology, and art. After eight years of broadly studying the topic and related fields, I had the feeling that something was missing, but was not able to name it by the time. Experiences went by, and at some point, I saw myself in Poland looking for a job. Language-based jobs naturally came to me, and I started managing data as a language-specific accountant. Time passed and so did I through different roles: the kind of data I was manipulating would be changing from one job to another while my Excel proficiency would be enhanced, and my interest in programming - which I first got in touch with at university - was taken from that time to a reality where it was a valuable need. Collectively, my experiences let me understand what I am really interested in: which is not any specific field of study but a logical approach to any of them. Looking back, I can say that what I missed when I left the Architecture school was having approached all the concepts I was presented to as organized data - in ways I could not only optimize my work as an architect but make data-driven discoveries out of any experiments. I no longer see Architecture or any other field I worked within as my market niche, but the world as a whole data pool where I, a free swimmer, dive and move through - from a place where I can learn from and contribute to, to another where I can learn from and contribute to even more. Throughout my life, whether in school, university, or beyond, I have consistently found myself in leadership positions. I attribute this achievement to three key qualities: proactivity, empathy, and strategic thinking. I firmly believe that good leadership requires knowing when to lead and when to follow. While currently I am comfortable being led within the Computing and Advertising industries, I am also looking forward to leveraging my leadership skills again.
