Invited to test Cray supercomputer systems and a member of the Cray User Advisory Committee with NASA, Los Alamos, Boeing. • Wrote tender, benchmarks, and performed evaluation for the 1st CRAY supercomputer in Europe. • Managed transition from mainframes to workstations and PCs at CERN. • Wrote first ever CPU performance monitor for the CDC 6600. • Programming in Fortran, C, Shell scripts, and MYSQL. Expert on parallel programming MP, openMP, MPI and PVM and Software Manager for the EEC GPMIMD2 Project. • Implemented portability and compatibility across proprietary systems (CDC, CRAY, DEC, IBM and SUN), MacOS and Android for many applications. The resulting BOINC LHC@home project provides up to free processors for LHC accelerator design studies. • After many years managing People and Systems (promoted to Corps Diplomatique) still working as an unpaid consultant to CERN. • Founder member of the Geneva Scottish Football Club and the Pipes and Drums of Geneva and played the solo bagpipe with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. Member and Usher of the Church of Scotland Geneva.
