About Fredrick Rwegerera

As a Senior Child Health and Immunization Specialist at USAID, I provide technical leadership and program management for USAID's child health program in Tanzania, with a focus on prevention, service delivery, and quality improvement. I have over a decade of experience in public health, working on projects ranging from reproductive, maternal, neonatal, and child health, HIV interventions to health systems strengthening, often with funding from organizations like CDC and USAID. I hold a Master's degree in Internal Medicine from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Tanzania, and I have expertise in various clinical training areas and evidence-based medicine. I collaborate with government agencies, implementing partners, and other stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive child health and immunization strategies, ensuring alignment with international guidelines and best practices. I also oversee malaria prevention efforts led by the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) teams in both Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar. My goal is to improve child health outcomes and reduce maternal and child mortality in developing countries such as Tanzania.
