About Gabriel Pujol

I'm currently studying and researching for my Ph.D. My working areas are Reservoir Simulation and Machine Learning, but I also have interests for Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Big Data, and data structures such as Artificial Neural Networks and Decision Trees. I finished my Masters Degree in Mathematical Optimization, where I learned to use Simulation Theory and Metaheuristics towards the optimization of complex systems, particularly the dynamic traffic flow occurring on complex street intersections. I worked for three years at the Cuban Neurosciences Center, in two projects: in the first, Neuronic Optima Pesquisa, my team designed and developed a system to support regional screening programs to identify school-age children at risk of neurodevelopmental disorders. The second project, Optima Pesquisa for Android, was a new tool for screening children using Android tablets, that is part of a system that will be used to detect neurodevelopmental deviations in kids in primary school. My Bachelor Thesis' work was about Geographic Information Systems: designing and implementing an efficient storage for large volumes of geographic data, so localized queries could be answered in minimal time. I wish someday I could work in the beautiful field of Artificial Intelligence, one of my passions since I saw Spielberg's film "A.I.", and make great contributions to this field.
