About Garrett Murray

Garrett has been in the service industry for 14 years, beginning as a dishwasher in Italian restaurants in Michigan. As time went by he began learning how to prep and run the salad station. Working with a great group of people and having a lot of fun in the kitchen Garrett decided to stay in the service industry. In 2005 Garrett joined Americorps and was sent to New Orleans to do disaster relief work after Katrina. Garrett was a site manager of a disaster relief kitchen for 2 years. Garrett began learning how to cook large batch meals for residents of the lower 9th ward. In 2007 Garrett started working in bar restaurants in New Orleans and became the kitchen manager before moving to Minneapolis, MN In 2009 Garrett accepted a Sous Chef position in Minneapolis. In 2013 Garrett began his career with Sterling Services in Southfield, MI as a grill cook. Garrett was promoted to management in 2015 and relocated to Troy, MI. Garrett was born in Detroit Michigan and has since traveled to all the states but 3. Fun Facts Garrett has all the logos of past jobs tattooed on his leg including the Sterling Services logo.
