About Gary Conway

In the era of globalisation, where business transcends borders and cultures, I began passionately developing a career that would allow me to help Asian and western businesses work well together, working to build brands and to engage customers and stakeholders across cultures. In pursuit of this, I gathered several years of good international communications experience, working in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Japan. In this time, I earned a Master’s degree focusing on issues of cross-cultural and international communications, conducting field research into brand communication in Shanghai by western companies. Now that I am in Japan, I have another very interesting career challenge. It's time for Japan to be more proactively engaged in global business. This means helping foreign companies communicate with Japanese audiences, but increasingly, it also means helping Japanese companies (and their people) to engage better with people around the world. That’s a significant communication challenge, but one central to Japan's future, and I am pleased to be part of it.
