About Gary Rudick

Recognized as a leader in school safety and security, Chief Rudick is a certified instructor for the State of Oklahoma Council for Law Enforcement Education and Training and is a published author for school policing in the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin. Chief Rudick served on the Oklahoma Lt. Governor's Safe School Commission in 2013. The Commission developed key legislation to increase safety and security at schools following the tragedy at Sandy Hook School in New Town, Connecticut. He has served as Board president for the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police and on the Board of Directors for OACP since 2005 until he retired from law enforcement in 2014. Gary Rudick is currently serving as a field representative to the State of Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security for all schools as well as to the law enforcement community for the purpose of improving the safety of the learning environment for all students, faculty and staff. The program Gary is supporting within OOHS is called the Oklahoma School Security Institute and Gary travels the state conducting training seminars for education professionals and emergency responders.
