About Genesis Johnson
Genesis has been a practicing artist in the city of DC for the last 7 years. From sip and paint classes to commissioned portraits her practice services and engages with the community of DC and surrounding cities. Genesis is an inaugural member of Artists' Table, a 2022 DC initiative bringing light to diverse artists and she was also a 2022 DC Arts and Humanities Fellow. She often shares her knowledge of the grant application and gallery acquisition process to emerging artists via consultation services. She offers classes to both children and adults and guides her students step by step in creating their own masterpieces. She partners with local venues to create classes that are entertaining, informative & incredibly unique. Genesis is enthusiastic for consumer and visual-oriented experiences and passionate about creative culture. She studied art history and painting at Howard University and prides herself on community engagement. Genesis spends her free time channeling her love for art into her cooking as well as volunteering at her church and local community gardens.
