About George Lagarias

I translate macroeconomics into investment decisions — and into language people outside the industry can actually use. As Chief Economist and Chief Investment Strategist at Forvis Mazars, I founded and co-lead the Economics Hub, the firm's macro research function, and help shape asset allocation across £2.8bn in client assets. During my time here, assets under advice have grown roughly eightfold and average client net worth has tripled. I advise the executive committee and partners on the economy and business strategy, and I built the investment department's research process, as well as client, press and adviser communications. Twenty years in the markets, split between London and Athens, has taken me through fund management, fund-of-funds, manager research, equity analysis and investment strategy across six institutions, from private banks to asset managers. I think about portfolios and about the macro and geopolitical forces moving them at the same time. I'm also one of the more visible market voices in UK and Greek media — quoted in the Financial Times, Bloomberg, the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian and the Telegraph, and a regular on BBC, Sky News, CNBC and Bloomberg, as well as Naftemporiki, Mega News, ERT, Liberal.gr, Oikonomikos Taxydromos, Fortunemagazine.gr and others. I've given expert evidence to the UK Parliament on private equity.
