I enjoy building awesome back-end solutions using native technologies, in particular for mobile devices. I frequently enjoy game development because fancy solutions aren't out of place; GPU based animation with fancy basis splines? sure! Real-time pathfinding through a world- sure: let's invent a new spatial data structure while at it. Of course I make sure solutions are robust and not just there for the novelty. When I'm not building games, I enjoy working with AI techniques for decision making and classification. My portfolio has some experimental demos. A few years ago I completed writing a master's thesis on how to algorithmically detect hands and faces in renaissance-era paintings. The thesis focuses on statistical distributions generated from colors, as well as combining cues generated via a CNN for human pose detection. Whatever I work on, I enjoy a good challenge. That includes a thorough bug hunt to find the root-cause of an issue: along with a refactor to make sure it'll never occur again. But also, I'm always looking for an opportunity to master new technologies and improve existing/legacy code-bases. I am certainly not shy of sharing my knowledge: I've given plenty of guest lectures at universities. I also encourage pragmatism and transparency among development teams. Key interests: algorithms, C++ mobile development, Unity3d, prototypes, and back-end systems.
