In the academy I have experience as Vice Head of the department, Campus Director, Program Leader, member of the University Board, member of the Department Board and member of the Faculty Senate Have participated in several international and national research projects and are used to work as a member of high performing teams. Also have extensive experience in leading smaller mechanical design and computational project teams Research interests: Applied mathematical modelling of Non Destructive Testing/Evaluation (NDT/NDE) for both Ultrasonics (UT) and Electromagnetic Techniques. Have published both FE and Integral Equation solutions for Ultrasonic, Eddy Current and Barkhausen noise. Recent work made on - Modeling/studies of Barkhausen noise method, for grinding burn and case depth determination, by parametric investigation of sensors and influence of material structure- Probability Of Detection (POD) investigating parametric models vs stochastical computation on deterministic models for UT and developing strategy for building Meta-models- Modelling of Laser UT (LUS) for AM details (Additive manufacturing). Software experience- Matlab/Simulink/Simscape/AppDesigner for building GUI and Platform integrating VSim and CST in both a Win and Unix env. Some Python scripting in PyCharm- Comsol Multiphysics in the research projects and using Catia V5 GPS/GAS as an integrated FE-tool in the teaching of Applied Finite Element Analysis. Comsol Application Builder on server for creating GUI- Experience of FE software Abaqus, K-Wave, Pro/Mechanica/Creo, IDEAS - ModeFRONTIER for design optimization and multi-objective optimization algorithms- simSUNDT for simulation of complete Ultrasonic testing situations. Teaching experience: Have given courses, on all academic levels, in mechanics, strength of materials/solid mechanics, machine design and non-destructive testing. Supervisor of more than 140 M.Sc. and B.Sc/B.Eng degree-theses/diploma work in both machine design and product development.
