About Glenn Sinclair

I'm an accomplished Risk Manager with a distinguished career. A former police officer with extensive experience in the Criminal Investigation Branch, I have a proven track record across several business sectors including profit protection, risk, operational management and business continuity. I started my business career in the retail sector and have worked for several large brands. I've played a pivotal role in developing and executing risk and security programmes for several well-known companies and driving impactful change. This involved leadership and staff training, physical security, inventory control, profit protection strategies, protection and investigations. Having served as the National Operations Manager for a leading New Zealand security company, I've successfully led security operations across the country, optimizing safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. I've also held the role of Security and Safety Manager for a major Australasian property company, where I developed and implemented comprehensive risk strategies to protect both assets and people. I'm currently the Retail and Operational Risk Manager for national DIY retailer and trade merchant, Mitre 10. In addition to hands-on experience, I'm is deeply involved in New Zealand’s risk management community. I'm a committee member of the Profit Protection Future Forum, an inaugural member of the NZ Security Leaders Forum, and a committee member of the NZ Crowded Places Business Advisory Group. I'm also a judge for the 2025 Outstanding Security Performance Awards. Committed to continual professional development, I hold tertiary qualifications from the Auckland University Business School and remain well-connected within New Zealand’s security and risk management circles. My leadership and strategic insight make me a trusted expert in physical security, risk planning, and the protection of people, assets and profits.
