About Graciann Hicks

Given my journalism background, I value clear, concise communication. As a creative person, however, I appreciate the unexpected. I pride myself on my effective, yet unique, approach to projects. I have written and edited for multiple publications. This has allowed me to develop my personal style while adhering to established voices and different audiences. I also have practice working with different mediums, including print, digital, audio and video. I have grown an understanding of the affordances and constraints of diverse methods of storytelling as I have explored different outlets. I have practiced organization, communication and management through different leadership positions. I cannot understate the importance of building personal connections with the people you interview and collaborate with. While I have learned how to communicate better, I have also enhanced my listening abilities. I believe the key to any great story is noticing details that others miss.
