About Gregory Marra

Experienced Church Musician, skilled in Organ, Piano, Guitar, and Voice. I am deeply familiar with and competent in a wide range of Eastern and Western Christian sacred music, including Gregorian Chant, Armenian Chant/Sacred Music, Anglican chant and hymnody, Renaissance polyphony, and contemporary Catholic hymnody. I have been heavily involved in faith formation at all age levels for over five years, and have extensive experience in teaching, writing and speaking about the Bible and Catholic theology in a parish context. My areas of expertise include: Lesson planning and catechesis for Grades 1-8 and Confirmation candidates (Grades 9-10), developing Bible studies and presentations on various aspects of Catholic doctrine for adults, Catholic dogma (esp. Divine Revelation/Fundamental Theology and Christology), liturgy (including liturgical planning), and philosophy, the Christian theological tradition more broadly (esp. the patristic and medieval eras), New Testament studies and exegesis, rhetoric (persuasive writing and speaking), and homiletics. I have also volunteered and worked in a Catholic parish office since 2022 and have gained a broad array of invaluable administrative, clerical, and interpersonal skills, including but not limited to: planning and organizing parish events, coordinating with volunteers, collaborating with colleagues, developing office procedures and workflows, interfacing with parishioners, clergy, and Diocesan personnel, overseeing the transparent reporting, handling, and depositing of parish income, preparing and leading staff meetings with a written agenda, processing payroll, onboarding new staff/volunteers, scheduling visiting clergy in our pastor's absence, resolving small-scale technical issues, and team management.
