About Gregory Rowe

Since April 2021 I’ve been working at MoJ HQ in a policy and stakeholder engagement role. A significant part of my role is briefing senior stakeholders, including ministers, for their meetings with His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Prisons. I’m extremely proud to be part of the MoJ and the work we do. I’m an ambassador of the Unlocked Graduate Programme 2018 cohort, where I spent nearly 3 years working on the frontline in a Young Offenders Institution, as a Prison Officer, whilst studying for a masters in Leadership and Custodial Environments. I received the Unlocked Award for 'Academic Excellence In Research' after achieving 94% in my dissertation as per of my MSc. I also won an award for resilience. My personal interests include leadership, understanding different cultures within organisations and how to improve them. Prior to this, I read economic history at the London School of Economics and wrote a dissertation which looked into the impact of individuals and their values in improving public health in 19th Century Britain. I’m proud to say that I grew up in social housing. My social background, educational background and frontline experience give me a unique perspective both my work and in my areas of personal interest.
