About Haex Tom

I’m active in European projects that have the development of a (cell) therapy against diabetes as the ultimate goal. More than 19 years of experience in isolation, cell culture and various QC assays of human beta cells, in a GMP cleanroom. These human beta cells are used for research as for clinical transplantation trials. I am also involved in various research and clinical projects; isolation of fetal big pancreata, encapsulation in alginate of human beta cells, working with human embryonic stem cells (hESC), isolation of mononuclear cells from peripheral blood for both analytical and future clinical use (production of iPS cells). Recently I have been in possession of my visa as a medical laboratory technician. I also work on the routine hormone determinations of patients samples (post-analytical, analytical and pre-analytical, including quality assurance).
