About Hallie Jay

I’m a soon-to-be MPH graduate specializing in Nutrition, driven by a deep passion for advancing health equity, promoting food security, and helping communities thrive through sustainable, evidence-based nutrition programs. Before starting my graduate journey, I spent several years working in healthcare and administrative roles. Those experiences taught me the importance of patient-centered care, teamwork, and strong organizational skills — lessons I now carry with me into my public health work. They also gave me a firsthand look at the real-world challenges individuals and communities face when it comes to accessing quality care and nutrition. During my MPH program, I have had the opportunity to combine my healthcare background with public health strategies, working on projects focused on nutrition education, program development, and policy advocacy. I approach public health nutrition with both a systems-level view and a deep appreciation for individual experiences, which helps me design interventions that are practical, inclusive, and sustainable. As I prepare for the next chapter of my career, I’m excited to find opportunities where I can use my skills, passion, and energy to make a real difference — whether that's through public health departments, nonprofit organizations, healthcare systems, or research initiatives. I’d love to connect with others who are passionate about public health, nutrition, community empowerment, and creating meaningful change!
