About Hanna Ahere

I am a visionary leader and a strategic coordinator with over 15 years of experience in international development. I am passionate about advancing positive transformation and fostering sustainable development in the Eastern Africa region and beyond. As a Special Assistant to the Regional Director at The Ford Foundation Office for Eastern Africa, I support the seamless functioning of the organization's activities and initiatives. I collaborate with the Regional Director and various teams, employing my extensive skills in grantmaking, stakeholder engagement, project management, and strategic coordination to drive internal and external processes. I also build and maintain relationships with critical stakeholders across civil society, government, academia, and funding agencies, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and strategies. As a social entrepreneur, I have also initiated and led several projects that promote social change and innovation in the region. I have a Master's degree in Sociology and pursuing a PhD in Nonprofit Management, as well as multiple certifications in human resource management, event planning, and organizational development.
