About Heather Hedger

I am an enthusiastic, energetic and innovative Fire Safety Engineer who learns fast and pushes to learn new skills to develop myself professionally. I am highly motivated and thrive professionally in goal driven environments. My career aim is to work at the higher levels of management. I have experience in Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Strategy, Building Regulations, and software and electronic design and development. I enjoy identifying bottlenecks, risks and issues in current systems and processes; devising the most appropriate and effective solutions; creating an integrated system and then seeing my work come to fruition when the system is implemented. I have worked with many different systems and processes including fire risk, detection and protection; large factory condition-based monitoring and process driven companies such as cleaning or maintenance. During my degree I learned skills in it solutions architecture - an IBM driven course where I was awarded a top achiever certificate, software engineering, analogue and digital electronic design and implementation, signals processing and communication and business management and implementations of successful business structure. The rapidly changing technological and software industries strongly interest me as they keep me on my toes and constantly provide new and innovative ways to solve problems. My personal interests are wide and varied. I love winter sports: skiing, snowboarding and ice-skating, as well as sailing. I am very active in my spare time with horse-riding, volleyball, dancing, pilates, amateur dramatics and musicals. I also help out with my local drama group as the lead choreographer, provide skills as a sound technician for the shows in which I am not performing.
