About Heather Lynne M.

Heather Mills is a captivating performer and an inspiring teacher. She grew up in Langley, BC and completed her BFA Honors in Dance at York University in Toronto. Over the course of her dance career she has studied as many techniques as she could, focusing on Ballet, Modern and Jazz with some Lyrical, Hip Hop, African and Latin thrown in. During her University education she was the artistic director of Impact Dance Collective for two years where she gained experience teaching, choreographing and performing. With Impact Dance she produced Elevation, an evening-length work of her own choreography. Since completing her BFA Heather has worked with various choreographers, companies and artists in Toronto, including Kaeja d’Dance, Hanna Kiel, The Parahumans, LR Productions, the CMW Fest, and Series 808 where she presented a solo titled "Satiate Me". She also acted in the musical The Big Picture and starred in the indy film One End of Heaven. Heather enjoyed being mentored by Karen Kaeja in choreography and all things dance while working as Karen’s personal assistant. She went on to create #GetOutsideDanceOutside or #GODO. This project focuses on drawing attention to exploring and conserving Ontario's backcountry and canoe country through animating those spaces with dance. Heather has loved working as a dance teacher for the past 10 years, 7 of which have been with the incomparable Swansea School of Dance. Currently she is teaching Ballet, Jazz and Pre-School dance while also running the social media @SwanseaSchoolofDance
