About Heather Stephens

It is thrilling to be on the entrepreneurial ride with our business owners. As an entrepreneur, there are so many ups and downs - and watch out for those curve balls. It is equally inspiring to stimulate the imagination and curiosity of young readers. I am an author who writes stories to inspire children to imagine, and perhaps later explore, new ideas, places and possibilities. As the Loans Manager with the Women's Enterprise Centre of Manitoba ("WECM"), I have had the opportunity to meet and create relationships with inspiring entrepreneurs, and assist them go through their challenges as well as celebrate in their success. At WECM, we not only provide training and business advising services, we also offer business loans up to for start ups, expansion and purchase of existing businesses. When a client applies for a loan, they may not only receive financing, but will be provided an in depth review and assessment of their business plan to potentially improve the success and results of their enterprise. When I'm not at the office, I have been exploring the world of writing. This was something I enjoyed while growing up, but I put it aside to pursue my career in finance. Being an author has opened up many new doors for me, and I can only just imagine where this road as a writer will take me.
