About Heather Storey

I am an experienced Head of Commissioning in Children’s Care and Support at Barking and Dagenham Council, committed to improving outcomes for children and young people through innovation and service improvement. I have experience in building teams, leading improvement programmes, developing and implementing operating models, managing large budgets, building consensus, fostering and nurturing productive relationships, setting up systems to bring together and analyse quantitative and qualitative data, policy, and strategy and have played a key role in connecting strategic planning with accurate and timely information and analysis. I have focused my career to date on improving the outcomes of children and young people. During my tenure at Barking and Dagenham, my role has developed and grown in line with the organisation and my own professional growth, taking on more and more responsibility and I am now seeking further development and to commit myself to a new place and population. I am outward-looking, innovative and enjoy forming new relationships and working collaboratively both within and beyond organisations.
