About Hector Moon

I have extensive experience in education, having served in various roles across multiple districts. As an Instructional Math Coach at Channelview ISD (2022-2024), I facilitated PLCs, provided coaching, mentored teachers, collaborated with district specialists, and managed campus equipment inventory. At Klein ISD (2021-2022), I was an Instructional Specialist-Math/Science, where I coached teachers, analyzed data for improvements, chaired PLCs, and guided backward planning for better lesson alignment. Prior to that, I was an 8th Grade Science Teacher at Channelview ISD (2019-2021), promoting data-driven practices, integrating technology for hybrid learning, and supporting T-TESS evaluations. At Spring ISD (2017-2019), I served as Team Leader for 4th/5th Grade Math/Science/Bilingual Teacher, where I increased students' STAAR science performance and conducted staff development. From 2007 to 2017, I was the Science Lead at Channelview ISD, mentoring novice teachers, increasing student attendance, and promoting a campus STEM fair. Earlier, I worked at Spring ISD (2006-2007) as a 2nd Grade Bilingual Self-contained Teacher, enhancing the school-wide PBIS system, and at Dallas ISD (1998-2006) as a Team Leader for 2nd/3rd Grade Bilingual self-contained Teacher in the Newcomer Program, where I developed action plans to align math vertically and differentiated lesson plans for students' unique needs. I am also involved in the Aspiring Leadership Academy at Channelview ISD since 2022.
