About Hernan Fernandez

Hi! I'm Hernan I’m a predominantly backend software engineer who loves problem solving and learning. I have spent the last few years working on building scalable REST APIs and distributed systems in cloud environments (mostly AWS). I specialize in the.NET ecosystem but I have my good share of working with other languages/platforms.Over the past 6 years I have been living in New Zealand working in a product-oriented company. I had a lot of fun working in diverse teams, delivering software incrementally using Agile methodologies. In my time at Xero I had the opportunity to take on different roles that required different skill sets, such as people management, individual contributor, interviewing and hiring.I am currently based in Madrid, Spain. I am actively looking for remote work in Europe preferably in product based companies. If I sound like someone you might be keen to work with, reach out and let's have a chat :).In my spare time, I love playing football, hiking, reading and traveling.
