About Howard Hsu

Howard is a structural engineer with five (5) years of experience in the ports, terminals, and marine infrastructure sectors. He brings a well-rounded engineering background with expertise in the design of new concrete, steel, and timber structures; condition assessment and maintenance planning for existing assets; and the development of detailed technical documentation. His project experience includes structural analysis and the preparation of IFC drawings for both new construction and repair works, delivered in accordance with NBCC, BCBC, CSA and CISC standards. Howard is proficient in industry-standard design tools such as RISA-3D, RAM Concept, Woodworks, and Forte. Howard has significant field engineering experience, including assignments in remote areas of Alaska and British Columbia, where he provided on-site technical support with minimal resources. He has completed numerous structural condition assessments for materials handling infrastructure such as conveyors, shiploaders, stacker reclaimers, transfer towers, dumper buildings, and concentrate storage buildings. Howard’s adaptability, technical proficiency, and problem-solving abilities make him a reliable contributor to multidisciplinary project teams across all stages of design and construction.
