As Chief Executive of the City of London Corporation, I lead one of the UK’s most historic and complex institutions — a civic, cultural, and economic force at the heart of a globally successful UK economy. We serve a uniquely diverse set of stakeholders: residents, workers, businesses, visitors, global investors, and elected Members. Balancing their needs requires strategic clarity, emotional intelligence, and a deep commitment to public value.Our remit spans financial and professional services, education, culture, open spaces, housing, and social impact. We steward iconic assets — from Hampstead Heath to Tower Bridge — while shaping policy on green finance, tech innovation, and economic resilience. We convene global leaders, support grassroots opportunity, and champion inclusive growth across London and beyond.I’m proud to work alongside visionary elected Members whose leadership continues to evolve the City’s role on the world stage. Together, we’ve advanced governance reform, strengthened investor engagement, and launched Destination City — a bold programme to reimagine the Square Mile as a vibrant, 24/7 destination for all.We play a critical role in securing the UK’s economic future. Our £225bn Vision for Economic Growth sets out a blueprint to unlock capital, drive innovation, and enhance competitiveness. At its heart is the proposed Financial Services Investment Hub — a national platform developed with HM Treasury, to unlock £10bn in growth capital. This initiative aims to boost jobs, pensions, and prosperity across every UK region.Also, Mansion House Compact, a landmark agreement with major pension funds to channel long-term investment into UK assets, and the Mansion Accord, which strengthens collaboration between government and industry to deliver sustainable growth.Our commitment to economic security is reinforced by the City of London Police — the UK’s national lead force for tackling fraud and cybercrime. Their high-performing teams protect £6.7bn in value annually, safeguarding consumers, businesses, and the integrity of our financial system. Our new Local Plan will help galvanise urban renewal; and all whilst celebrating institutional milestones that honour our 950-year heritage.
