The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." Anonymous. I love this quote because I have always loved learning and developing others. So how did I end up as an Accounting Director in the insurance industry? I can attribute this to having a very integrated thinking style, equally adept with left brain and right brain thinking preferences. I spent my business career in the the insurance industry, with specific, focused expertise in reinsurance. I had a proactive, results oriented management style and I effectively dealt with complex issues, providing clear direction and action. I enjoyed what I did but I made sure to blend it with my love of learning, education, and employee development. I actively worked as a Diversity & Inclusion in-house practitioner, trainer and coach. I championed numerous training and organizational improvement initiatives and oversaw their successful implementation. I approach everything I do with intelligence, honesty and integrity. I bring an extensive background in both leadership and technical disciplines - insurance company operations, reinsurance, accounting, and finance - and I am always willing to go the extra mile to achieve excellence. I have a proven track record for establishing new operations, processes, internal and external relationships, and effective organizational change management. But my post corporate life is focused on facilitation, teaching, mentoring and coaching, with an extensive background in human resources management, people development and training. I am a Master trainer in Diversity and Inclusion and an Intercultural Development Inventory Qualified administrator. I currently teach at Harper College and College of Lake County in the Business Department. Most of my focus is on apprenticeship programs, helping to build the industry leaders of the future. I have also taught Management Courses at DeVry University. I volunteer at The Barrington Career Center as a Career/Job coach, workshop facilitator and I am the secretary of the TBCC Board. I am the former vice-chair for the NW CASA Board of Directors and the Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Auxiliary.
