About Imogen Lymbery

I have been working in the Hospitality Industry since I was 15 years old, over half my life now, and have experience in almost every role there is; from hotel room cleaner to venue manager.From my beginnings in the Barossa Valley working for the Plush Group of Hotels, I worked across the Angaston Hotel and Barossa Brauhaus as a waitress and cleaner. Through hard work and commitment, I earned myself a position as a kitchen hand and eventually as a Cook before moving into the bar. I became a Duty Manager and Gaming Manager at 22 years of age, being left in charge of the entire operations of the Hotel, banking, and opening/closing procedures.I then moved to the City, where I took 2 jobs; one as a bartender at the Crown and Anchor Hotel and another at The Belgian Beer Cafe as a Larder Cook. I worked across both venues for a year before deciding to focus on bartending, leaving the Belgian Beer Cafe to become one of the Duty Managers at the Crown and Anchor. I worked here for 6 years, occasionally getting a second job to make ends meet, and took positions as a cook in a Vegan Cafe, a cook in a Take Away shop down the road, and a Roller Skating Instructor.I have been playing Roller Derby and have been an active member of Adelaide Roller Derby since 2015, taking on committee roles such as Fundraising, Training Coordinator, and, currently, working on the committee to help rebrand the league. I have also occupied leadership roles on the Adelaide Representative Squad, organising interstate and overseas travel arrangements for the entire squad, handling training rosters, and uniform orders. I have been Team Captain of my home team 4 times and captained the B-level Travel Squad once. I now skate on the A-level representative Squad, and have for 5 years, as a key player. In 2024, we earned ourselves a place at WFTDA Global Championships, attending playoffs in Portland, Oregon, as one of the top 13 teams in the world.In 2022 I took on the role of Venue Manager at The Suburban Brew's Brewery & Taproom in Glynde, taking their new venue and building it into the community-focused space it is today. This role allowed me to extend my knowledge of the Hospitality Industry and put into practice my own ideas for events and procedures, with great success, and I have now moved into Marketing and Brand Management for The Suburban Brew; something I have great passion for.
