About Isaac Hendrix

I'm a dedicated and driven chemistry undergraduate at San Diego State University, expected to earn my B.A. in Chemistry with a Minor in Jazz and Interdisciplinary Studies in May 2025. With a strong academic background (3.94 GPA) and hands-on research experience in synthesis and catalysis, I am passionate about advancing my skills in organic chemistry and analytical techniques. I've worked as a Research Assistant at the Yong Yan lab (SDSU) and BlossomHill Therapeutics, where I honed my lab management and synthesis skills. In my academic research position at SDSU, I have been in charge of three independent projects, with the most recent in the process of being drafted for publications, with intention to present it at upcoming academic conferences. Outside of the lab, I am a committed jazz bassist, playing gigs across California and applying creativity and collaboration to every performance. My diverse background also includes roles such as a Supplemental Instruction Leader at SDSU and Camp Leader at the YMCA, where I developed skills in teamwork, time management, and program development. With plans to pursue a PHD in the field of medicinal chemistry, I am eager to explore opportunities that merge my scientific expertise and creativity, always striving to contribute to meaningful research and innovative solutions.
