About Jack Stevenson-Smith

Why is cyber security something I am passionate about? Like with most things in life we do not realise the impact of something until it affects us personally. In 2020, I received an UberEats notification that I had just spent £80 on Jamaican food in London. I had been hacked for the first time!Whilst this certainly was a shock, it was fairly low impact, but only a few months later things took a darker turn. A vulnerable, elderly family member was targeted in a vishing attack, where the attackers successfully gained remote access of the targets laptop and made off with a sizable sum of money. Why should these attackers get to cheat the system when others have worked so hard for what they have? How can those of us with the capacity to help go about doing so? Fairness and justice are principles I have always strived towards, and I am always eager to protect those that cannot protect themselves. With this passion, I set off looking to apply my skills and knowledge in the cyber security industry.
