About Jackson Bender

I'm Jackson Bender, an eager and disciplined professional with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Technology Management. I'm focused on leveraging emerging technologies and AI to build smarter, more efficient solutions that drive innovation and deliver meaningful impact. While working as a Technology Risk Analyst at OMERS, I was primarily responsible for liaising with internal D&T clients and business units on risk assessments, policy exceptions, IT audits, and major incident responses. I also developed and delivered IT compliance training to internal supporting teams. A key achievement was leading the end-to-end product lifecycle of the Solution Design Governance Portal, a custom compliance and risk management tool built on the Microsoft Power Platform. This enterprise-wide platform streamlined the onboarding of new technologies by embedding compliance early in the process, allowing for earlier risk identification, faster remediation, and more secure, resilient solutions. I've recently returned to Canada after spending the past 18 months living in the United Kingdom while on a work visa. During this time, I embraced a unique journey: I travelled across 11 countries in Europe & Asia, served in a seaside restaurant, supported a local small business on a busy beach, and appeared as a background actor in several high-profile film productions in London. This phenomenal experience expanded my global perspective, strengthened my adaptability, and deepened my appreciation for working and living within diverse cultures.
