Background

About Jackson Ruffner

I am a senior at Michigan State University majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology/Biotechnology, with minors in Pharmacology/Toxicology and Computational Mathematics, Science, and Engineering. My academic and research experiences have shaped a strong interest in pharmacological sciences, particularly in drug discovery and design. I am especially interested in integrating pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling with medicinal chemistry to guide the development of next-generation therapeutics. My research interests include emerging modalities such as targeted protein degraders (e.g, PROTACs), antibody-based immunotherapies, and cell and gene therapies, with applications in cancer, regenerative medicine, and neurodegenerative diseases. I am passionate about research and eager to pursue graduate training and collaborative opportunities that bridge molecular mechanisms with translational applications to human health.
