About Jake Ho

BCom in Human Resources equipped with a diverse set of skills and a robust foundation in Human Resources and Organizational Development. Education: I graduated with Great Distinction from the Edwards School of Business, University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resources. Throughout my degree, I demonstrated academic, leadership and professional excellence, earning eight academic awards, the Edwards Co-op Student Achievement Award, the Involvement Award, and a place on the Edwards Dean's Honour Roll for five consecutive years. Leadership & Co-Curricular Involvement: As the former Vice President of Professional Development at the Edwards Business Students' Society, I developed a team of 16 volunteers, enacted policy changes, and brought new professional development initiatives to the student community. Additionally, I was a dedicated three-time JDC West delegate, representing the University of Saskatchewan and achieving 4th place in Human Resources and Entrepreneurship. As of September 2024, I have returned to Edwards JDC West as a Coach in the Human Resources discipline. Professional Journey: My professional journey has been shaped by a strong foundation in human resources, with a focus on process improvement and organizational development. In 2022, I gained diverse, hands-on experience in HRIS implementation, organizational development, and HR operations at Canpotex. My efforts in streamlining processes and creating user-friendly guides reflected my commitment to efficiency and enhancing employee engagement. In 2023, as Talent Acquisition Coordinator at the University of Saskatchewan, I helped improve recruitment processes by co-developing an employee onboarding program and updating the university’s recruitment training to align with best practices. In 2024, I returned to Canpotex as a People Resources Assistant, supporting the implementation of UKG Document Manager and optimizing the Corporate Administration function. Currently, I am furthering my passion for Human Resources and talent enablement as an HR Advisor at Rise Air. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a blend of technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and a commitment to enhancing organizational efficiency and the employee experience. I am passionate about the work that I do in enabling individuals and organizations through Human Resources, advising and leadership.
